Assignment 7

It is hard to imagine there could be much more progress in technology than what we have today.  We have wireless games, smart phones, digital cameras, etc.  One piece of technology that I think will be extinct in fifty years is the DVD player.  We have already seen the decline of video stores because of the popularity of streaming movies through computers and video consoles.  Companies like Netflix offer access to most any movie or television show that were created.  I believe more companies will be created that will offer the online video service through different devices. In fifty years, I think televisions will have a dashboard with options to view movies, TV shows, view personal videos, pictures, and much more.  Some televisions already have these options but I think it will be commonplace to have this technology.  I believe all family videos be recorded digitally and stored in cloud storage.  I don’t think videos will be burned on disks and they too will be obsolete.  This will be very beneficial because we won’t have DVDs lying around or have to find space to store them. Cloud storage is an easy way members of families can share their videos through the internet.  People may be apprehensive at the beginning when they put their precious memories in cyberspace to be stored, but eventually I believe it will be the most convenient way to do it.
